Materia – Videodance Performance at Teatro San Materno
Description
A selection of international movement-based films, co-curated by POOL MOVEMENT ART FILM Festival Berlin and Teatro San Materno. Two evenings of screenings in which dance and film converge to give life to a unique form of the art of movement.
Dancing bodies, fluid and resonant, morph within landscapes, moving to the rhythm of matter in the cinematic realm. Raw textures of soil, water, light, and wind appear on screen, merging with skin and body, tracing the relations between human and elemental forces in a living ecosystem.
POOL – MOVEMENT ART FILM Festival Berlin presents an annual, curated selection of inspiring international dance film productions, setting up a meeting place for artists involved in the fields of dance, film, fashion and visual art. The festival is focused on films that not only record dance but create independent film-choreographies through the intense interplay between dance and cinematic tools like camera and editing.
POOL was founded in 2007 at DOCK 11 and has over the years developed a unique curatorial line, combining the presentation of contemporary movement- based films as well as historical artworks in the course of the Shine - New York Traces format POOL.
